I ordered mine on the 11th. My Smart cover arrived via FedEx. My iPad shipped via FedEx also. I live in Savannah, GA.
My theory is obsolete then. Complicated MO.
BTW, my iPads are in Anchorage.

Seems like were all in the same iPad 2 shipments. It just left Anchorage, AK and is heading to Louisville, KT. Then it's gonna fly over to it's final destination. We should be getting ours most likely in the next 1 or 2 days!

Hello all, just thought I would post my iPad 2 online ordering experience from Asia (Thailand to be precise).
Order: 64GB WiFi + 3G, black, no engraving
Order date: 8 June 2011
Charge to the credit card: 20 June, 11:30pm (GMT +7)
Prepared for Shipping status: 21 June, 1:00am (GMT +7)
For some reason, it took longer to get to that Prepared for Shipping status that a lot of the people on this thread. No idea why.

for those who just got there iPad from ordering online through apple what version of iOS 4 came with it? 4.3.3?
Ronald, how on earth can you see where the plane is headed to? I only get the departure info after the take-off or the arrival after landing.
Am I missing sth at the UPS website or are you using an alternative source?
Louisville is the central hub for UPS so pretty much everything goes there first, then gets sent out to final destination.

I ordered mine on June 11th and my tracking info to this point is nearly identical to yours.
Package delivered at 10:02, 28 minutes before their ETD. Amazing!!
When I called the Apple hotline 2 days ago, the kind gentleman assured me that I'd receive my package on time as he had no indication of a probable delay on his screen.
And I gave him the "Yeah, sure" treatment. Turns out he was correct.

How come there are so many online purchases? I'd understand if there were no Apple Stores in your vicinity, but being able to buy it at the store without having the pain of waiting 2 weeks and checking on the tracker every few minutes saves a lot of stress

I bought mine online because I get a corporate discount through my employer. It was a measly $10 off, but it was better than nothing.
I was also under the impression that they were still very hard to find in stores. None of the Apple Stores in my area had the model I wanted in stock, but I later found out that I could've walked into any one of about a half dozen Target stores within 20 miles of my location and picked up exactly what I was looking for
I probably would've gone that route to avoid having to wait.
Ugh, the damn "International shipment release" at Memphis has been stuck for a day now. Move the darn thing already

My iPad finally made it to Canada, and now there is an exception? Anyone know what this means?
Also, the mouse over for exception states "Your shipment is currently within the UPS network; however, an unforeseen event has occurred which could result in a change to the scheduled delivery date"

Can you choose the carrier when you place an on-line order with Apple?
No. It depends on which factory in China the iPad is being mad. I suspect the FedEx ones are iPads being made in Shenzen while the UPS ones are iPads being made in Chengdu.
I dont see how I am going to get it on the 23 when it has to go from China to Minnesota still...
Don't be surprised if it does indeed arrive that quickly. My Smart Cover left Shenzhen, China on June 12th, and I picked it up here in Washington DC on the 14th.
Mine never even departed from Chengdu, that is so disappointing ... mine should be in anchorage right about now
