Hey guys, did all of you actually reciecve an email after your order was placed too, i never got an email saying my order was even recived but my status at the apple website still says not yet shipped. its just been bugging me that i didnt even get an email about an order being placed.

no e-mail here either.

i didn't either but i figured out why. it was because i used my @mac.com email address which i have no access to. so i went on the site and edited my contact email and the conformations started flooding in. i hope this helps.

hey i checked out what ya said, and i had my gmail as my contact, so i dunno, kinda makes me really nervous. esp cuz the iPad isnt for me, but for a present
 
Both my 32GB black & white are still "Not Yet Shipped."

Looks like things might change overnight with the rumors the way they are.

1am PDT is 5pm in China. If your order doesn't change to Prepared For Shipment by then, I personally wouldn't expect any status changes till Sunday night or Monday.
 
I would imagine the China factory is working this weekend!

Also, in the past, I've been able to track items from Apple that only have Prepared For Shipment by tracking by reference at FedEx's site (using the Order #/Sales Ref #/your phone number, I forget which worked). Perhaps it's the same for the iPad release as well?

It will happen my friend. Like what was said earlier, it may be Monday before the system updates. Don't be too concerned.. I spoke with numerous Apple reps and they all said that if you didn't receive the cancellation email and it says it will be there by the 18th - 25th, then they reassured me over and over that it would be exactly as it says.

Plus, you got the Grand-daddy of iPad 2's, I'd be willing to bet that model is in demand more than any others, especially with the faster processor. Rest assured, buddy. I was worried for a while too, but they came through.. right at the stroke of midnight, I might add.

If you ordered early yesterday morning, then you'll still be on of the first shipments of that model - it's all a first-come first-served type thing (according to Apple reps).

Seriously. I am almost 30 and I get excited and frustrated with these apple thingies like a little girl. :)
Would a cancellation also be in the order status like in my screenshot above? Because I never received an confirmation email from apple. I called and the lady sent it again, but I didnt get it again. Seems, I cannot receive apple emails.
 
Mine is not yet shipped ... unfortunately... but how i can see... other people that ordered it after me, their status are changed to Prepared for Shipment .. i don't know why...

How long take them to actually ship out from "Prepared for shipment"?

I just want to get my IPAD before end of the world.

My brother's MacBook Pro got delayed by the FDA upon entry into the country because they thought it was actual apples. :)

But seriously, whatever it was, it's done being delayed now. I just assumed ordering a MacBook Pro, iPad 2, and Smart Cover at once would get them to me at the same time. I was wrong. I think Apple intentionally released this on a Friday so that they'd have the weekend to sort out the millions trying to get one.

Edit: I believe that no matter what we want, they won't even ship it until Monday at this point. What a shame. I wouldn't worry about it not saying "Prepare for shipping" yet - I'll bet Monday it practically skips that process and goes straight to shipping. Just wish I could overnight it.
 
Get this - 16 gig wifi prepared to ship and 32 gig not yet shipped. Then at 3:00 am - time stamp on email, Apple tells me that they "have been unable to obtain payment for your order."

It gets better. Checked CC on line yesterday. There was a hold on the card. Called the company. Apple sent a $1 hold and 15 minutes latter sent a $1170 hold. This red flagged the card. I have a very high limit.

I called and was given the fraud department. Not a problem, payment will go thru. Had a 3 way conversation with the fraud department and customer service. Both apologizing to me over the misunderstanding. I tell them I am going to book a cruise in a month for over 2 grand. Not problem. Everyone is nice.

Wait for it. It gets better. After apples email, I check the CC on line. Card account as of 4 am this morning has been closed.

Now I have to wait until 10 EST to talk to customer service at apple to change the card. I changed it on line, but in the order status page it is the closed out card. I don't want bumped back to a month for delivery or canceled.

However, I do get to talk to the CC company at 8:30. I can't wait to hear this explanation. I told the wife to go outside for about 15 minutes.

Same thing happened to me with the iPhone 4... placed an order for 2 iPhones and it locked my AMEX and screwed up my order. :mad:
