Receiving non-iMessage txt messages (SMS)

Quick question!
Does the apple watch have sms messages forwarded to it from iPhone, or only iMessages?

Does the watch recurve notifications even when the watch is on, but not being worn?

Yes you can get and respond to both text or iMessages, if you are wearing watch and not using phone it comes to watch but if you are using phone or the watch is not being worn it only comes to phone

it can receive just about any push notification that your phone can receive.
