duh! we ARE on a mac forum.

Double Duh!!

Some P.C. owners that look to Macforums are potential Apple customers.
Triple duh!!, Why attack them, when you might explain why you like your Mac's or even answer concerns buyers with bucks to spend may buy one? This particular topic is about buyers remorse, and every single poster (Mac cultist or otherwise), gets slammed. Back when Apple products were known for easy "it just works" quality, it appears that a lot of Mac owners had no need to know a motherboard from a CMOS bios or what a POST test might be. Unfortunately, we uh, "candle owners" visit here with questions and usually just quietly lurk until we we see misinformation or lies about "candles", the variety of "Candle O.S's, and apps we have that run on "candles". Very early on the "candle" camp" had to learn a lot about hardware and drivers to upgrade our p. (candles), and sometimes just to get the darn "candles" to light. It appears that some Apple owners are still undereducated about the innards of your machines, If unable to answer simple questions, do not resort to "duh", When you have no answer. Fortunately, the move to the Intel platform, is a great equalizer on the hardware front and removes much of the Mystery that has Shrouded the Mac, I am betting many Mac owners of newer machines have already learned enough about what makes them tick, so that they don't have to answer with ther ever helpful "duh, this is an apple board, what did you expect?" Oh, so warm and helpful! Then I can learn if Intel based Macs use the same Intel 4965 ABGN wireless mini-cards, that many "candles" have, or if there are different internal mini cards for Mac's mobility line? If you are unable to answer, please spare me a "quadruple "DUH"

response of you and your pseduo intellectual brethren, that makes for an unneccesarily hostile and compative forum. No one should slam you if you answer with "I dont know", or direct someone to a sources that have such information. I welcome you to the Intel Platform, and I would be pleased to answer any questions that I can answer regarding the "Santa Rosa" platform, memory capacity, and even give you a tip. On Intel based systems press control-alt-and delete at the same time twice in rapid succession for a a quick way to enable the bios's assistance program module and place the system into "virtual turbo mode", this will slighlty overclock your CPU and memory channel speed" It is an undocumented trick to prevent overuse, and will enables a maximum power boost mode for very heavy mumbers crunching or graphic needs as well. It will never exceed the rated speed of your CPU or Graphics system, because these are always truely rated at 15 to 20 percent less than stated performance capacity, this allows for minor power blips and small surges, will not damage your Motherboard, or any device attched to it.By doing this, Intel chips function forever (I've never had one fail be it AMD or Intel) though if constantly operated wide open, extra heat could be generated causing your system to reboot occasionally and potentiially shortening the life of your computer. When desired power boost has finished what you need it to do,simply press the control-alt-delete buttons simultaniously twice in rapid succession again to return your system to it's normal speed. Or, after ten minutes the sytem, will warn you to save your work, and then reboot with standard speed ratings. See how we can help one another?
Best wishes for a happy new year,
