Got a Dell XPS 15 within the past month and am regretting it so bad after yesterday's announcement of the new iPads and iOS 11. Anyone else in a similar situation? Should I just sell it?

Just make sure that you're not simply caught up in the hype of something new and shiny. The iPad may be gaining some new laptop-like features, but it's still not a laptop.

No matter what they do with iOS 11, it won't replace a real Windows or Mac computer for many things. But, as in most cases, it depends on what you need it for. Don't buy for the hardware, buy for the tasks you need to do.

Sound advice. @xxray what were you intending to use your XPS 15 for anyway?

You brought a Windoze laptop...?! Keep it an suffer until the next update cycle :p

Did you know that iPads were potentially just around the corner?

If you can afford to do it just sell it and buy what it seems you want.

I recommend you keep the XPS; even with iOS 11 the apps are still not on par with desktop programs yet.

Both devices are on very different OSes anyway, you should use each OS to their benefits I would say

They'll charge me 15% of what I paid for restocking and I'm not sure if I'm still within the return period

That's better than anything you'll get selling it used

As nice as iOS 11 is for iPad, it doesn't replace a laptop

I have a XPS 13 and it's the best laptop I have ever owned. I use it for a variety of tasks - primarily heavy photo processing of lots of RAW images - that I don't care to do on a tablet. Love my iPad for consumption activities, though.
