can I somehow remove the new with this IOS Recently saved section when you open bookmarks? Thanks

Not an option. Only workaround is delete your reading list and delete all your bookmarks. Turn off iCloud sync for Safari. Then import a clean copy of your bookmarks via HTML. (And then don’t ever save anything again?)

Actually, there is another workaround that’s less bother than deleting and never saving any bookmarks. I implemented this on my ipad:

1) Create a new bookmarks folder. If you sort your folders alphabetically like me, give it a name that will guarantee that it’s listed near the top of your bookmarks list, “AAA” or whatever.

2) Search for news stories about Apple being accused, indicted, settling lawsuits, fined, paying fines etc. Save as many as you want to the folder you just created. You only need to save one over and over again, but I saved 12 different stories, because variety is the spice of life.

3) Every story you just saved is now at the top of the “Recently Saved” list. Whenever bookmarks that you don’t want to share with the world appear in the list, just hop back to your “AAA” folder and re-save one or more of those stories enough times to push the offending bookmarks off the visible portion of the list. It takes 20 seconds.

If Apple ever decides to give us the option of not displaying recently saved bookmarks I’m going to select that option. Meanwhile, I’m fine with the way things are.

This is indeed a good solution but for now, it's been simpler to just use Chrome for the stuff I don't want showing up during the course of the work day
