yes i am still having issues despite the fact that i bought a case right off the bat the very first day to keep it protected. still reception issues. so yes its a problem.

Anyone out there still having reception issues after fitting a case or bumper?

Good question..As it appears a case is required to avoid the antenna issue.

In a similar vein...does anyone know if those sticky screen protectors like Invisishield or whatever will protect against the other big flaw, the proximity sensor not working and resulting in your face pressing buttons on the screen when you are in a call?

edit: also do they include adhesive screen protectors w/ the Bumper?

I have a case and am still having issues. Not as bad as without the case, but if I hold the phone in my left hand enough the bars will drop as before - it just takes longer for them to drop and I don't seem to drop as many calls, though data speeds will plummet pretty quickly.

Frustrating :(

I bought a $25 Griffin case from BB (rubber around the sides, clear plastic on the back) and I don't have any reception issues at all now. The signal at my house is very weak. I couldn't hold a call with the iP4 without the case, and I was none too happy about it. However, it works at least as good as my 3G did now, if not better.

Perhaps 3rd party cases work better than the Bumper?

That's why I was thinking Apple should give away Bumpers OR give a $30 credit to any other case. After your input vlug I think I'd opt for a case from someone else..such as txjeep's Griffin from BB.

Yep I tried bumpers and a few different cases and still having the issue.

Also just watched the Apple Keynote again and notice when Steve demo's the 3GS and iPhone 4 side by side he is holding the 3Gs with his full hand cupping it and he is definitely making sure he does not even come close to touching the bottom left corner of the iPhone 4. He's holding them completely different.

Just doesn't make sense he had to know this issue existed.:(

I just got my bumper case today from apple.com (had pre-ordered it on the 15th). I am still having the reception issue despite the case; however, I can live with it... it's the proximity sensor that is giving me fits. Come on Apple, release a fix already!!!
