Other reception issues.

Hey,

im actually shaking right now. I was the one who started the thread about reception issues here in this forum. I just asked if people are also noticing reception issues.

After that the thread I created blew a little bit up and the issue now is reported wildly.

So to state as a matter of fact: I never filed any issue to Apple.

Though somebody called me right now with the number +1 (800) 275-2273

It was Apple „steve“ calling be about a antenna issue I experianced!! He sounded very very professional to me. It was not the usual callcenter guy. I told him about the problems I had. He wanted me to install a special loggin sytem, so that my problems can be loggen. Long story short:

How the **** knew Apple my telefone number and why does Apple know that I (my real name not a alias on this forum or twitter) had reception issues.

Apple has never ever called me just so and never from the U.S.A.!!!

Can you elaborate on what you were asked to ‘install’?
 
I would have called the number back before giving any information to someone. Incoming numbers can be easily spoofed.
 
I am 90 percent sure It really was apple. The guy was not Indian or something he sounded very smart and good educated

Yeah I know the number goes to Apple Support. But who's to say who called him was actually Apple Support and the incoming caller ID wasn't spoofed? There would have to be a case number attached to the call he received. He could have asked for that and then called the 800 number himself for the case. Just as a precaution.
 
Maybe you have an email linked to your macrumours account that was also linked to your iCloud/Apple ID?

I’d be careful about installing anything until you can be sure it’s actially a creepy Apple stalker and not just a creepy non-Apple stalker

Agree. Just stating that was result of calling back the number.

if he had you install a profile, look at the name of who signed it and that should tell you if its fake or not. AppleCare will sometimes have you install an enhanced logging profile to send them sysdiagnose data and other information.

I am pretty sure I have had to do this. Let thd logging run and send file.

If you want the number of an Executive Liason to verify I can share that info with you.. privately out of respect for him.. even though we did NOT agree on ‘solution’.
