I recieved a MacBook Core Duo 2.0 from my Aunt as gift. I wanted to know if I could take it back to an Apple Store and exchange it for a Core 2 Duo? I don't mind paying an extra $400. Thing is I never got a receipt or gift receipt with it, but it is still new in the box and sealed.

its not that im not grateful, but i mean if i can get a c2d i might as well for little more, and be good in the long run with leopard coming soon

i know i wouldnt pay an extra 400 for c2d and you know.....leopard will run great on the cd's as well

If you don't have the receipt you're screwed.

If you dont wanna ask your aunt for the receipt keep it and be happy.

i think apple has a policy that if they upgrade the technology within a certain time frame (i think it might be 14 days) that you can switch it.

Apple Retail can look up any receipt by serial number, the question is whether it was bought from a 3rd party retailer or online.
