Let me start off by saying I am a huge fan and supporter of Apple. They have always had above par customer service until my latest experience which I need your help in seeing if the problem is common.

Just so you know: the "I love Apple, let me list the ways, BUT..." qualifier tends to set off people's troll alarms, true or not. You don't need to be an Apple lover to have a valid complaint about an Apple product.

dont save highly peronal data in contacts...lesson learned

Thanks for the help. As far as me having all his bank data he was not very smart in what personal data he saved under contacts. For example one of the contacts is “Bank of Hawaii” listed in the notes section is the banks phone # and web address. He also input online usernames and passwords and pins. Something you should never do I know. Lucky for him I’m an honest guy or else I would have been a wealthy man…

That is patently untrue.

And earlier you said you took your iPhone in to the store. Not over the phone.

Actually, it's not. If your phone is no longer under warranty, they want $30 to troubleshoot over the phone. The issue can be software, or just about anything. Firs they will ask for the device's serial. Then they will ask for your money, assuming the device is no longer warrantied.

Or just rotting in jail.

sounds similar to what happened to me when i got my first iphone except i was receiving text messages from people i didnt know trying to talk to the previous owner. they had to change the phone number to fix it.

I'm lost here on this folks.

How can iCloud (which requires a email addy and password) continue to merge data with another's acccount?

I still use MM but have an iCloud only for back up of my iOS device and it is a unique email a password combo.

So how is it that 1 device can claim both accounts especially not knowing the originals email and pass to his iCloud account. This is weird....
