Recoding sound from iMovie

Hello. I am new to Mac, and so far LOVE IT! I am working on iMovie and iDVD...and am trying to record sound only from either of these. I am wanting to use this sound (my daughter's choir group) as the audio track for the menu. I am so confused...how do I do this? I hope this question makes sense. thanks

In the export settings in iMovie there should be an option to just export the audio track, which you then can use in iDvd.
