I'm sorry for this maybe stupid question. I guess I haven't been paying attention to new IOS features as my brother-in-law sent me this screenshot and he's asking me how to disable this widget but I don't recognize it. 😵 Could anyone please help?

This setting/option is activated on triple press on the power/side button. So he should be able to shut it down by triple pressing.
To disable permanently go to Settings >Accessibility >Accessibility Shortcut and uncheck Assistive touch.
