i was initially thinking Hushed or Burner. The price right ($3.99/mo) but i read the iStore Apple privacy disclosures for these products and its bad.

Cover Me has better privacy. The reliability for coverme is not as good.

any other options that are on par with CoverMe. Price is really not the main issue but rather privacy and reliability.

There is nothing bad about the Hushed privacy policy. Don't give it access to your contacts, unless you want to. Doing so will identity known incoming call and texts. Otherwise, you will have to recognize the numbers of those you know and want contact with.

I have been using it for several years (lifetime plan for $25) with good results.

You may want to more closely review the policy.

just one line
but
need to send / receive both text & voice

-some app that has good apple store privacy disclosure ratings

I've used Google Voice for years. It's free, easy to get a local number and has an option to screen callers before it rings your phone.

Texts also work very well with services I've used it with.

I've used Google Voice when selling a car. Note: you've got to already have a real phone number of some kind to set it up and there's no way to have two GV numbers attached to one real phone number.

I still have not down loaded installed my burner phone app

leaning to "Cover Me"
or
"2nd Line : Second Phone Number"

both coverMe & 2ndLine are the same software developer
-for 2ndLine there is very little billing information
available before you buy

You can purchase additional numbers for $20
