Recommend A Calendar App?

I really like the Apple calendar app icon with day and date but also like the Google calendar app layout where you can write a word or two and it shows up where as the Apple calendar just shows a dot when there is an event.

Is there an app that shows the day date on the icon but upon opening you get a month view that will show an event description not just a dot?

No, Apple does not allow dynamical app icon change fir 3rd party apps. The only workaround is by badge over icon, if developer applies it

Why not use a regular notification on either lock screen or Notification Center together with Apple's own or a third party calendar app such as WeekCalendar (iPhone, iPad) which also has a nice month view (with a list of the agenda per day below it when you select a day) and I love the list view.
