I thought this might be a good place to gather some opinions on this. My 67 year old mother in law needs to become computer savvy if not for anything else, so we will not need to do everything on line for her <just kidding we are only thinking of her> She has barely touched a computer in her life. I tried to set her up with an old IBM thinkpad of mine running XP, but so far she does not seem to grasp it. Plus on that little gem I will need to be vigilant about viruses etc. So for round two I am thinking of an inexpensive used Mac. She really only needs to email and use the web although it would be really interesting if she could use Google apps someday and who knows if she gets motivated enough it could happen. She lives in the lower level of our home in a 4 room apartment so space is an issue and she wants to use it at the end of a very large and sentimental dining room table as a workspace. So I was thinking maybe an old iBook or something along those lines but I've noticed older G4 iMacs going for maybe $300 on ebay and the later versions of those can run leopard. The one piece iMacs would be almost as portable as a notebook, and in reality its something that is going to sit at the end of that table 90% of the time. Any other thoughts or ideas? Basically looking for something close to one piece and around $200 to $400.
