I'm shopping around for an external storage solution for my new Mac Pro, once it does arrive at some point in February.

I know the Pegasus products have a great reputation, but they're a little bit above my price point.

Looking for 6-10TB of space, RAID, Thunderbolt.

Does anyone have any experience with the Lacie 2bigs? How are they in comparison to the WD Duos? I've read that the WD products have slower hard drives.

Thoughts? Recommendations? Much appreciated.

(I'll add that I primarily do design and motion graphics for a living, lots of music production as a hobby, and some video editing, but nothing too intensive –*no 4K, yet, and relatively short projects.)

Have to say based on past experience, I would not touch LaCie.. I'm likely to be getting a G-Tech solution myself.
