I'm an audio guy...

I need something better to help create graphic design pdf documents for music release related work. As an audio guy, I will NOT be taking a deep dive here! I'd be all about convenience over some compromised ability as long as it doesn't get too cheesy looking.

Trying to work with Gimp for image editing and Pages for document creation at present and NOT happy!
One example:
Want to quick add a background color/layer. Nope! Have to create a new layer. Fine... Except it isn't! You have to navigate layers. You have to navigate bumping into other content and work order of operations around that. Now it's 10 minutes later or whatever and frankly, this feels like the bs I remember from getting stuck using Windows some years ago at an old day job.

I suppose I'm getting what I paid for, right? :D (ie free)

Hi @stalinkay. Thanks for the reply! I don't do anything with Twitter. Anything you are willing to share here would be welcome. Thanks!

Interestingly enough, @serr, I discovered your post on Twitter ?.

Alright, no problem.

I wasn't really clear on what you do and what you'd like to achieve.

There are technical design tools like Adobe Photoshop. There are newer tools in the cloud that allow you to design starting with predesigned templates like Canva, and Glorify Design.

When you are referring to desktop publishing for music release-related work are you referring to design tools for creating album covers? Or is there something specific that you'd like to create/achieve?

i'd recommend canva if you don't want to learn actual design stuff.
