I'd like to buy an ExpressCard/34 SD/memory card adapter to use with my new 17" MBP.

Preferably it'll read multiple formats (SD, XD, etc).

    I see this one: http://bit.ly/drvWBS

on eBay. It says it's for Toshiba laptops, but I assume it'll work with a MBP since it's ExpressCard/34?

Also do any of them actually sit flush with MBP case once inserted?

    Thanks

It should work. I've never seen an Ex/34 SD Reader that wasn't flush (not to say they aren't out there), but from the images it looks like it'll be flush.

    Thanks.

Out of interest, what else can the slot be used for? I'm not sure why they left the Ex/34 slot on the 17" and gave the 13" and 15" an SD card slot. I'd rather have the SD slot, unless I'm missing something??

There's a giant list somewhere around here. Pretty much anything
    SSDs in various sizes
USB 3.0 in the future (already on windows systems)
    External Video Cards
External PCI - E Cards (albiet expensive)
    Card Readers
    TV Tuners
    Firewire
    Modems
if you've got lots of coin, the symphony mobile looks is good and expensive
    and others

I'd buy a Sonnet or Sandisk EC/34 reader. Not sure I trust the independent Chinese manufacturers.
