Hi there. I'm new to Macs and I'm looking for a recommendation for an application to keep a folder on my rMBP in sync with a folder on my NAS.

This would typically be a one way process, i.e. only changes on the Mac being sync'd to the NAS. Also should be automatic, either on a scheduled basis or triggered by a change in the source folder.

I already have cloud backup in place, but just want to keep a working copy of my documents folder on my NAS.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

How about using the NAS as a Time Machine Backup and only choose to backup that one folder in Time Machine preferences?

Or you can use software like "sync 2 folders" --> google it.

Here's an automator workflow to copy to another folder by schedule:

But I've used the free Backup application included with your system to do the same thing.

Both do it by schedule, not by sensing when a change has been made. But perhaps you could do that with a folder action and a script.

I liked the above actions because they overwrite existing files, which is what I wanted instead of versions. Both have their uses, depends on what you need.
