We have this thing called 'Pledge' and it's an all-purpose cleaner for wood, glass, plastic, etc. It does the job perfectly when I clean both my screen, and my keyboard, and also the cover. Basically cleans everywhere.

I just spray some on the screen and use toilet paper (lol), and for the keyboard, I spray on the toilet paper then wipe.

Lol. Toilet paper may scratch your screen in the long run. Invest in a microfiber... uber cheap.

gee, i was about to throw away the whole box, and thought i might take a look inside one more time and finally found the cloth everyone is talking about. lucky. now i can throw it away knowing i have my cloth :D

Never never ever throw electronic boxes.... especially those that came from Apple. :(

They are as sexy as the product inside it.

How to clean 13.3" MBP

My outer casing near the apple logo has something stuck on it and a lot of chalk (from pool). Can I just use iKlean on this thing or something else? Can you use iKlean for the entier mac, and is it worth it? Thanks.

You my friend, need to get out more. It's a box...for a computer. I think it's time to step away!

Also, I used to obsess over keeping the keyboard as free from visible wear as possible. But now... I don't. My black unibody MacBook keyboard looks pretty disgusting, with very visible wear on nearly all the keys. But oh well, it's a keyboard and it's meant to be used. So I consider the wear a good thing, shows how often I use the product...

Anyway, iKlear + micro-fiber cloth will clean everything, including the keyboard. (It will get grease and oil off, but the general "shine" from the overall wear is permanent.)

Yeah man at first you're kinda bummed out about the keys being all shiny and worned but after a while you just forget about it since they keyboard is the part you touch the most.

Kind of, yeah. At first, you see the keys are brand new, and then after even just a couple hours of use, you start to notice really ugly shiny spots that only get bigger and worse over time. It used to annoy me, but now it's not a big deal. That's just how it is, I guess.

Although, it does annoy me that some other notebooks in fact put a coating on the keys that resists visible wear. Makes me wonder why Apple doesn't do that on their keyboards, considering how much their notebooks cost.

How do you clean the outside of an aluminum MacBook?

Hello.

Okay, so basically the outside of the MacBook has become really dirty. The screen is fine because the rag that came with it works excellent, but I need to know what can be used on the outside.

Thanks!
