recommendations for help with iTunes

hi all...

now that i'm finally getting around to using osx, i'm having some time getting my noggin' wrapped around itunes...

i've been putting all my mp3's into the "Shared" folder so logged-in users can get to them easily...

i really don't like how it creates folders with names and bands and albums and such when i import from my cd's (yes, cd's i actually bought)...drives me nuts...is there a way around this? i would much prefer that the system at least would ask me what to name the file folder. are there any good utitlies out there for managing these things? are there other things that maybe y'all could recommend?

There is a setting called something like "Keep Library Arranged" (sorry on a PC at work). You need to uncheck that. Then it'll leave everything where it was.
