Recommendations for Laptop for Lightroom and Photoshop?

Looking to get a laptop for my dad who's taken up photography and I'm looking for recommendations. He is currently using my 2017 15" MacBook with TB that he likes but still wants to go back to using Windows.

We're using the Nikon D850 now for shooting and editing raws and DNGs.

What is his budget? If he is looking for comparable to the MBP, the Surface Book 2 from Microsoft is awesome.

Budget isn’t much of an issue, but it’s more of an inconvenience now, because I have to share with him my laptop.

I was considering the Surface Book 2 too but it releases only in November. Anything I can buy to use now in the interim then maybe I’ll return it before 14 days and get the Surface Book 2 when it comes out.

I think people over-estimate the requirements for Lightroom/Photoshop.

Pretty well anything modern will do. Best to focus on getting a good screen (color accurate, nice resolution).

Surface Book 2 would have a great screen. Another praised for the screen is the XPS 15".
