Main goal is portability. Power isn’t of utmost importance. Also want it to last a very long time. I like to save $, macOS isn’t of necessity but it is a nice to have. What would you do?

I would avoid any Apple laptops with the troubled "butterfly style" keyboards... they are prone to fail and is expensive to repair out of warranty. To me this alone is not worth buying any of Apple's current line laptops. Very unfortunate. Since you have the Lenovo i7 on the list you should pick this unless you're willing to pick up a 2017 i7 MBAas sracer suggested.
