I need a USB hub. I know they're a dime a dozen, but I want to find the perfect one for my needs. My biggest question regards hubs with their own power source (an AC adapter) vs. those without. What kinds of peripherals need the external power source? I'll mainly be plugging in a bluetooth adapter, iPod Shuffle, small graphics tablet, and either my digital camera or a card reader. Will all of those work on a hub, and one without external power? I like the looks of this Macally hub, mainly because it won't add to the already horrific cable clutter (which is a big deal, as my service dog - a golden retriever - sheds quite a bit, and cables attract the hair like a magnet, which is just gross). Has anyone used that particular model, or do you have any other suggestions? I'll be using this on a G4 iBook with USB 1 and limited desk space.
