How to record calls on iPhone:

1. Be in call with person
2. Hit the button to add a call (the +)
3. Type in your phone number

That takes some time…

4. It will go strait to voicemail
5. Once you here the beep,

How much times takes that?

it will start recording
6. When you hang up the call, you will get a voicemail of your recording

Thank you very much! Didn't try it out yet but this workaround sounds great! I hope it doesn't take longer than pulling out pen and paper.

They should replace the "beep" with an automatic voice telling "this conversation will be recorded... blah blah" (like when you call Apple Service) and so it would be legal even in U.S. states with most ridiculous laws (and the rest of the world has to suffer).

I need that very often (clients giving dates and orders) and it's the only reason why I have to carry pen and paper with me (because typing in iPhone lasts too long—clients have to love me).

Does anyone know of a decent app that would allow me to record Phone calls on my iPhone and move them to the computer?

Hi,

due to limitations of the software development kit, no app can be built to record phone calls you make with the iPhone phone app.

Record phone calls

Musico,

Thanks I had the same question. I need to record some old vm's off of my old phone now that I'm switching over to the iPhone. Once I get the vm over to the iPhone using the method you outlined, how do I get it on my computer? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm new to the iPhone. I want to use these messages from my kids in a video of them at different ages and need to get a clean digital audio track.

thx

Lou

Record phone calls

Hi

I tried this approach of calling myself, but the system recognizes it is me and I go straight into my voice mail options. It does not treat me like an outside caller and allow me to leave a message

Just thought I'd note that it's not necessary to type your number in, at least I find it easier and faster to just select myself from my list of contacts.

Oh, gawd. Yet another how-do-I-record-phone-calls thread that immediately degenerated into a discussion of legalities. It seems impossible to actually get an answer to this sort of question, even when you have legal uses in mind.

Just once... just ONCE I'd love to see people launch into answering the bleeding question right away without a SINGLE post on "you know.. this is sometimes illegal, you know?" </rant>

Re:Recording Calls

Forgot to mention that it also has all of the legalities for each state outlined. Very informative.

recording using skype

if you have the Skype app installed on your iPhone, you can use the Voice memo to record both sides of a conversation over Skype if you put it on speakerphone.
