Hey is it possible to record a video while iPad Pro screen is off or does it only work when on?

What I mean is, I know it‘s not possible. But is there a workaround or app that can do it?

Who are you planning to stalk...

Nobody. I‘m doing long time lapse videos and other stuff and don‘t need the screen on the whole time draining even more battery.

It‘s not a big deal in the end but I wanted to look into the possibility.

Unlike the Mac, I don’t think iPad can actually do anything while the screen is off, except some background tasks. Even if you technically could, there would be nothing to record.

There is an app called ProCam, when you record video the screen brightness can be manually set to reduce to any percentage (including 0%). It also works for timelapse videos.
Edit: screen brightness setting is ONLY for timelapse, not regular videos. So yeah, this app does exactly what you want.
