Recording from webcam? (not built in isight)

Does anyone know of any software that will let me record from my USB webcam to my MacBook? I have a Creative Optia and it works with iChat, but iMovie doesn't seem to recognize it. The only option I can find is for the built-in iSight. I am sort of new to the world of Apple so if my question is stupid, please go easy on me

My goal is to use the camera to record video from my car, sort of like a police car, so using the built-in iSight would be pretty awkward.

That's weird. Try putting the USB in a different port and connecting then, iMovie should be able to see it.

You could also try KeyCamX

Works well for me as a motion detector, and general surveillance enabler. This is with Logitech 5000 Pro webcam.

Try Quicktime Pro - Its worth having even if your camera does not work with it.
