Recording from webcam? (not built in isight)

Does anyone know of any software that will let me record from my USB webcam to my MacBook? I have a Creative Optia and it works with iChat, but iMovie doesn't seem to recognize it. The only option I can find is for the built-in iSight. I am sort of new to the world of Apple so if my question is stupid, please go easy on me 🙂

My goal is to use the camera to record video from my car, sort of like a police car, so using the built-in iSight would be pretty awkward.

That's weird. Try putting the USB in a different port and connecting then, iMovie should be able to see it.

You could also try KeyCamX

Works well for me as a motion detector, and general surveillance enabler. This is with Logitech 5000 Pro webcam.

Try Quicktime Pro - Its worth having even if your camera does not work with it.
