Every time my friend and I attempt to record our voices in iMovie, the sound gets all messed up! It gets very quiet and distant. When we're done recording some special green render bar appears automatically and messes up our recording

Recording problem in iMovie 6

Well I just tried it out on my mom's computer with iMovie 5 and it sounds good so it's not the microphone. iMovie 6 just must have something preset to change our voices!
