recover wifi passwords from backup files

I'm wondering if it is possible, and if so how do I go about doing so, To get wifi passwords from the backup on an iPod touch, or is there somewhere on the iPod touch, in the settings somewhere to retrieve the wifi password.

I have tried

I have been trying for a few hours with no luck. I may have a lead in /var/preferences/SystemConfiguration, but it is encrypted. If I crack encryption key, this will be the first place I post it.
