I am fully willing to pay $20 for MyWi and $8 for BiteSMS but what happens in a few months whenever 4.1 is out? Will I be able to retrieve these purchased apps in the future?

Assuming 4.1 is jailbroken.
When you rock and load a new program is does a back up for you.
When you purchase things like mywi or bite it uses either accont login info, license registration, or the phone I'd number.
As with any jailbreak never upgrade until the dev team gives the go ahead.

Okay good, thats what I wanted to hear. I just didnt want to spent $30 or $40 and have to spend that again later this year.
just make sure you remember which Gmail account used!
I have three different Gmail accounts and I couldn't remember which one I used for my Cydia purchases so I e-mailed them to try and find out. It's been several days now and I still haven't gotten a response.
I know people slam rock sometimes but you can at least get on their web page and retrieve your licensing information.
