Hi ...

I've recently been having problems with my Mac Mini
(yet again!) and accidentally trashed some files I shouldn't
have. :(

Is there any freeware available which will undo this action or,
if not, which (retail) software is best for recovering the deleted
files?

Many thanks in anticipation of your very valued advice.

Best,

JMcE.

I'm assuming you emptied the trash.

First, STOP using the computer. Every second you use it, more old data is overwritten with new data and the chances of recovering anything decrease.

Data rescue apps cost about $80-$100, but most have sort of demo mode where you can at least determine whether your data is recoverable. Data Rescue II is a popular one. FileSalvage is another.

Many thanks for such a prompt reply 'WildCowboy'!

Yes, unfortunately I did empty the trash.

Will try out demos and get back to you in the next
day or so.

Many thanks again for your valued assistance.

Best,

JMcE.
