Recovering deleted files

I accidently deleted files via rm -rf foo and I need to recover whatever is there so I can srm it. What can I do?

Hire a bit recoverer?

I would prefre to do it on my own.

See if Data Rescue II can find them. Remember that any file deleted in OSX will be promptly overwritten so try not to use your machine in the meantime.
