Hi everyone,

I accidentally deleted a very important conversation on my iPhone 5S. Is there any way I can recover them and put them back on my phone? From my understanding, the messages are not really deleted and iOS just hides the messages. I would do a restore but the problem is that I haven't made a backup of my phone for a very long time. However, I use iMessage on my macbook as well and the messages are still there on my macbook. Maybe there is a way I can transfer my messages from my macbook to my phone? I know you can save the messages to the computer by using third party apps, but what can I do to make them reappear on my phone? Any help would be very much appreciated!

Is iCloud backup on? Check when it last backed up as it is usually daily. If so just restore from that.

Ok so I tried backing up on an old iCloud backup but it didn't bring back my deleted messages for some reason.

I'm not sure why its not really deleted. I came across an article that says iOS just marks it as invisible until its overwritten?? I might be remembering it wrong.
