Recovering lost files from Audacity?

I recently spend a lot of time editing a file on Audacity only to have it shut down unexpectedly. On restarting it, it prompted me to either delete the files that weren't saved or recover them manually. It said that Audacity can't automatically recover so I would have to do it manually? Does anyone know how to do this??? I am really mad that I may have to go back and do the whole thing over!!!
