iPod touch Recovery mode Backup

My iPod is not turning on and when I connect it to iTunes it says that an iPod is in recovery mode and must be restored
Luckily I synced and backed up today 🙂
When I click restore, can i restore from the backup!!!
If so can you tell me how?
Help please!!!!! 🙁🙁🙁
