Recovery of Outlook File?

We recently had to re-join the domain on a workstation running Windows XP. The employee's outlook file was not backed up so therefore he lost all of his e-mails and calendar entries. Basically I left the domain to join a workgroup, then rejoined the domain under same username and password effectively "re-joining" the domain. The e-mail is not on a mail server it just receives and sends mail from a pop3 account so it's local to the machine.

Is there anyway to recover this file?

That is because you first used Exchange on the "Domain" and now you are just using "POP3" those saved emails on the Domain' Exchange will not show!
