I play RA3 fine on the following imac. Most of the graphics settings are on low, but it's at full rez and runs smooth.

20" Core 2 Duo 2.16ghz
3GB Ram
128 MB X1600 (the VRAM limits me on this monstrous monitor)

Anything newer and faster should run it as good or better. I wouldn't hesitate to pick it up a MacBook Pro. And I think it's only 30 bucks now. Great fun, even if I have to reboot into windows (takes a lot to do that for me, that's how great this game is).

War Bears. Nuff said.

Thanks!! I have identivle specs, except on a MBP. So I'm uber excited now.... and ready to lose countless days playing RA again (worth every second). Thanks again!

I have a Late 2007 15" MacBook Pro with the following specs:

Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz
2GB RAM
Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT 256MB

And I can run RA3 on High settings (with AA turned off) with pretty much no lag at 1440*900.

KW: why make it when the community already has?

that's what i would decide if i was EA...besides, it (and TW) didn't do all that well to begin with...esp. on Mac sales...

I don't suppose anyone can pm me or give me a lead on what phrase/wording to use in googling the RA3 port? been looking for days using multiple combos, too...finding KW port was pretty easy in comparison, but i think it's cuz i was in pretty early in that thread...have a demonoid acct if anyone wants an invite! since BS is gone...:(

anyway, i don't wanna wait for EA (assuming they actually follow thru); i wanna play now! waaaahhhh! 'Campin' it is ok, just don't want to have to buy twice...and porting it myself...yikes!

This "pretty much" you're saying is what bothers me. I have a mbp aluminum T9300 2,5 GHz cpu, 8600 GT 512 MB gpu and I'm not satisfied. The game on High settings even with AA off is practically unplayable. And the only way to convince me you're right is to give us some info about the drivers you use for your gpu under windows and the frames per second you get using fraps!!!

I simply don't have good experiences with Cider. C&C 3 is really slow on my iMac. Proper ports please... If this was a native port I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

now the site is saying it is only a download version...

man EA gets more and more cheap as the days go by...

so now that it's out on gametreeonline.com, anyone tried the official port of this game ? How is it ? how it runs ? thanks

Anyone tried it in crossover games? I don't feel like installing it if it won't run :)

Well I just downloaded it and played the 1st level (not exactly the most demanding). As a comparison I also have in installed in XP in bootcamp.

It seems to run pretty well (MPB 2.4, GeForce 9600M). Not quite as well as in windows... Performance-wise it's ok, but the game seems "twitchy"... when special events come up (co-commander wanting to chat, etc), the game gets jittery for a couple of seconds. But for normal gameplay it's ok.

I'm able to run it at native res, with most on high aside from water, shaders and shadows. However, it seems that AA is disabled in the game (so even If I wanted it on, can't)

Is it a cider? If yes, can you check what version? (sorry for posting twice, only just saw your post!)

Im about to try the demo in XP on my MBP, hopefully it will run pretty well, then i can buy it, then i have more of an excuse to build a Gaming PC :p

There is a mac version: gametree. Buy that! :p (I just want to know what cider version it uses thats all! Though it should run pretty smoothly! There is an unofficial cider which works pretty much perfectly on mac.
