The Sony EX1 and EX3 can do 1080p24 and they have 1/2" 1080p sensors and record to a full raster (1920x1808) codec. At about $6K, would this make the Scarlet 2/3 the cheapest camera that does real 1080p (besides the consumer Canons of course)?
There is nothing 'fake' about Canon's 24f mode. Canon just uses a different road to get to the same destination (24 full, discrete frames a second). It's not like Sony's CimeFrame24 mode on the Z1U that just re-orders the fields in an attempt to give the footage a 'look' reminiscent of 24fps.I said real just to contrast it with Canons 24F and 30F (XH A1) which fakes progressive scan.
