Red Badge Icon Stuck after iPad update to iOS 8.1

My iPad is updated to 8.1 but the little red badge is still showing up on my Sys Prefs as if I have an update. I guess I will restore the iPad unless there is something else I can do.

Also, I keep getting this Unable to download item message popping up every now and then.

I had no alternative other than to restore the iPad from scratch and set it up as a "new" iPad.

Problem solved...FYI
