In my opinion donating $10 isnt enough. The ipod costs like $199 plus whatever taxes. Apple should at least donate 10% not $10. Well just my two cents. It seems like Apple is getting greedy.

Well, there's nothing to say you can't donate to project Red on your own, even without buying a Red Nano. That's what I'm going to do. ( My 1G nano is too new to replace).

I really cant see why it isnt on the UK store but is on the front page to buy. Why???? It is rather cool and i want one SO muchbut just cant afford it atm as i will be buying a full screen one as soon as it comes out.

I wanna buy the red nano, but I'm worried I'll get one of these "loose clickwheels" people keep talking about and not be able to exchange it like I would in a normal shop (who might not object to exchanging it like Apple would).

It is on the store now... Kind of. Images are broken and its all over the place ATM.

Cheers Markleshark, it's up to buy on the Irish site now anyway which it wasn't last night. Is there a good chance I'd get a perfectly fine nano, or is this loose clickwheel business pretty rife in the 2nd gen 4GB models?

I think we all know the reason that Apple came out with a red iPod: Canada. I mean slap a Maple Leaf on the back and you've got the Official Canuck iPod. Clearly this way Steve's way of saying "Sorry you guys can't buy iTunes TV shows and Movies, and we overcharged you on the exchange rate for years, so have an iPod!" :p

Well, that means they bloody well owe us one too.

GREAT! Just as I fell in love with the green and opted to buy one next weekend, there is the damn red one! Now I cannot decide!

It looks very nice in red, but as someone who bought the green model three weeks ago, I can state without hesitation that if I were to buy next weekend with all the color options to choose from, my selection would still be green.

I feel the need to comment here. I bought a black ipod nano two days after they came out, and it had a loose clickwheel, after about two days of use it settled into place, and is no longer loose. It works perfectly, I'm glad i decided not to get it replaced. The moral of the story is: if it has a loose clickwheel, use it for a few days, if it's still loose after that, then get it replaced.

I wish I could say the same but as someone who bought the blue iPod nano three weeks ago I really want one of these red ones....my blue one is fine but the red one just seems more lively and special. Ah well....I suppose if the red one was available at launch then I probably would have chosen the blue one still.
