Hey, I searched the forum but couldn't find any answer for this...
I plugged in headphones and when I took them out, a red light appeared from the output place.
I looked at the system pref', but it said i had nothing connected, yet i can't hear nothing from the speakers, and i got this sign when i try to increase / decrease the volume.
I tried to put the headphones plug back in and out a few times, but nothing helps...
    solution anyone?

    thank you

Hi - the red light from the headphone jack is the digital output.

You can have digital or analogue but not both. Yours is "stuck" on digital so no sound (analogue) output.

Try pushing the jack in and out a few times and get the light out - failing that you might have to poke about in the jack with a matchstick or a toothpick.

There is a little latch on the inside wall of the socket that is not operating/releasing properly.
