"REDEEM" in iTunes app

While playing with my phone, i noticed that in the upper-left corner of the downloads section in the iTunes app, that there is a redeem button. I currently have a gift card on my mac in iTunes, so do i have to enter my gift card in the redeem section in the iPhone app if i were to buy songs in there? Or will it still use the gift card because it is in use on my mac?

You could put it in there and you will be able to use it on your mac. Just think of it as once you put it in your iPhone, your iPhone knows your iTunes account, and that will also take place on your mac.
