Pam: "Corporate would like you to find the differences in these pictures"Ah, a game of spot the difference!
Yes please and Wallet support for transit cards. I've suggested it to Translink in Vancouver so many times they've started addressing me by first name in their reply to my annual "suggestion".
yeh, it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal. What I really want to see is Look Around available in Toronto. Any eta on that @MacRumors? I tried it in US cities and it's way nicer than Google's streetview. What is the difference? I can't see almost anything different on that Toronto example
Not on the same continent, but the company where I work takes this very seriously due to heavy competition.
Often it's upper management that needs convincing (not the developers or customer support) and we can use every "proof" we can get. So thank you. Hope it works out for you and them soon.
This has been my first public complaint about Apple Maps. I gave up on using it because it was so feeble compared to the competition. I now use Google and Waze. I can't begin to imagine the chaos if someday, Siri and Apple CarPlay control autonomous car navigation. Absolute chaos and tragedy. The always helpful "I haven't used Maps in 5 years, but I'm still going to complain about it in every Maps thread" post.
Well as you can see the old map had Toronto, but on the new map Apple has also included Vancouver! The rest is apparently still polar bears...View attachment 969988
Why do we need better maps of Canada? Isn’t it just polar bears out there?
Except you can send Interac e-transfers via text now and most banks have instituted auto deposits with e-transfers? Not really sure how it could be made any easier?Yes it would. Being able to send money in the message app as easily as you send a memoji would be game changing. American has a number of e-transfer money options, we have ****** e-mail transfer Interac.
Love it! Can't wait to try it in Montreal and all across Québec. Much prefer it than Google Maps, generally.
That would be cool but I'm assuming that also involves teaming up with a Canadian bank so that could aslo be holding it up
Any improvements are welcome. I'm in Canada and use Apple maps as my default for street navigation due to the ease of integration, but admit its currently useless for addresses and locations. I generally just point it to an intersection and work my own way from there. In more rural areas I usually need to fall back to Here Maps (formerly Ovi / Nokia Maps) which I've used since the dawn of phone GPS on my Nokias.
The "3d"/satellite view for my area is horribly inaccurate yet has never been updated since the launch of Apple Maps and I I'm not exactly in the middle of nowhere, I live literally across the street from a major shopping mall with one of the oldest Apple Stores in the region.
Apple Maps has to be the most terrible GPS navigation unit out now. Apple Maps has told me that I was supposed to go right and continue seven miles when the location I needed to go to was literally a turn to the left and a pull into the parking lot. Google Maps for the win.
Bro! How are you using Here Maps on iOS?! Loved how Nokia had the breadcrumbs feature of their maps back in the S60 days.
Cheers! Much appreciated![]()

I'm completely upset with Apple Maps. I gave it several chances during the last years, but it's far behind Google Maps in Europe, and more concrete in Spain. Out of the big urban zones is directly unusable. But what bother me the most it's the way they map and update businesses locations and info. Maybe it's OK for moving from point A to point B, but c'mon!, it's 2020, most people use these apps also for exploring and discovering. Data is everything and Apple is not playing in the same league.
I appreciate a lot the way Apple respects my privacy, and I aspire to remove completely Google Maps in the future but I'm sorry, I'm deleting Apple Maps from my iOS/macOS devices until these basic pain points are at least partially addressed. I'm not asking being on par but at least being competitive...
One of the few Apple products that are not "Apple". Maybe they can rename it as "Xiaomi Maps"...
I'm completely aware, but in Europe, Apple still relies on third party data that very often is outdated and inaccurate. And that perception is even stronger outside the main cities. Creating and owning their own data it's the way, but they are still far, taking into account that they announced the "new" apple maps two years ago? and they just are starting to roll out Canada...You do realize that utilizing their own data/mapping is being done specifically to address your concerns listed in your post? I'm guessing you live in or use Maps in areas that are still using TomTom routing and outdated POI's?
