My name is Google and even though I know that iOS has its own easy UI toolkit for making interfaces without unnecessary graphics, I'm just going to create my own inconsistent and buggy UI elements that don't match any of my other apps.

This kind of UI skinning infuriates me just as much as when Windows application developers make their own title bar and window controls even though Windows can handle it with zero extra graphics or code.

This is the exact reason why I use VideoTube. It's a buggy app, but much simpler and straight-forward in use.

Plus, VT doesn't have ads. I hate ads.

Uh, do you have to buy the premium version to play videos in the background?

It's the pink icon right? When I close the app the audio stop and only my default music app plays.

EDIT: ProTube looks promising.

I love Protube
the only problem is, I can't find the history..... my watched history in the app... if you know what I mean.

I hate the freking youtube app. Theres no back button which drives me crazy and the fact that every time I skip in a video it gets an error is so annoying. Why can't I play youtube in the background when the app is shut??

The iOS 5 Apple youtube app was so much better albeit a bit basic.

The YouTube app is really horrible especially that timeline, jumping forward or backwards takes a lot of time to load, stutters, and a lot of time crashes.

This is what you get when no competition exists

I really like the new web player, its been a bit chunky for a while now so glad its been addressed!

Not sure on iOS update though

hopefully this is true, just for that damn volume button alone. Oh and a flat iOS icon that it will most likely have :p
