Thus is what I have came up with so far.
I hope, you know, that your line is "broken"/isn't straight?
Yeah I've heard it would look better straight. Not sure yet.
You have to move the black text, it appears to be higher up than the white text ´cause it´s on white.
The text seems to be a odd optical illusion.
Yep, it's well known...that's why we have to move things around.
Is there anything you'd like us to do with the logo? Critique it? Modify it? Print it out and mail it to the Pope along with a lock of our hair?
Critique it. Though sending it to the Pope would be great too!
The circle doesn't do anything for me. It's an odd combination because the sides are so tight to the type while the top and bottom so far away.
Personally, I'd just find a nice typographical treatment and leave the circle off.
I thought my eyes where just playing tricks with me
I have decided to do this:
The umbrella represents that over the years my site has gained a bunch of different topics that interested me.
Might want to kern it a bit, esp the L and I. The serif needs to be balanced out with the negative space.
My 2 cents
I think you need to start again. The logo is not conveying anything other than design for it's own sake. It seems strange to go from a completely abstract design to a little umbrella pictograph, it shows some muddled thinking.
Maybe try to stylise the umbrella and incorporate that if you want that image. I wouldn't bother with subtle type manipulation just yet, it's like putting lipstick on a pig, at least get the pig a decent outfit first.
The little coloured umbrella makes it look like an insurance logo.
Those black and red ones look like The Wall
I like that much better.
You might have to play with the scale of the umbrella a bit. It might get too small if your logo is reduced a bit.
But that is definitely an improvement.
Thank you everyone for your suggestions and comments.
