Hi,

I remember in the past there was a key combination you could press within iTunes to force iTunes redownloading and reinstalling the firmware of your iPhone, even if it is already the latest version. For some reason I cannot find the keycombo anymore, only a way to choose an IPSW file by choice, but I want the forced option to redownload/reinstall the firmware of an iPhone even if it is equipped with the latest iOS firmware.

Anyone familiar how to do this with an iPhone 14 Pro?

I don’t remember seeing this but why not just download the ipsw of the version you want and use iTunes to reload it. If you don’t know where to find links to ipsw files then I can’t advise you (forum rules).

Assuming Windows, it's Ctrl-"Check for update". Your phone should be connected to your PC with a USB cable and unlocked.

If you already have the current IPSW downloaded, iTunes will reinstall that one. If you want to force a new download, rename or delete the existing IPSW. For Windows 10 (and presumably Windows 11) it's at "%appdata%\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates"

Substitute "iTunes" with "Finder", and "~/Library/iTunes/iPhone Software Updates" for IPSW location when dealing with Macs.

It's ok to provide the link to https://ipsw.me as they direct link to Apple's content delivery servers and are not betas where it's in violation of the beta program agreement (ie. need to be signed up for the beta program).
