Redsn0w Not Recognizing 3GS 3.0 IPSW?

When I browse for the ipsw for 3.0 3gs it says it is unable to recognize the specified ipsw? Does anyone know why this is? Im not a noobie with redsn0w, but I cant seem to figure this out. I have tried redownloading the ispw multiple times, still no luck. Does anyone have a NOT apple link to the 3.0 for 3gs? Or anyone know how to fix this?

Mine was doing the same thing.
I even pointed it to the IPSW that was saved inside the itunes folder and downloaded directly from Apple and nothing.
I'd like to know also.

I had the same problem. To get it to recognize, I typed *.* in the filename filed and then chose the appropriate folder/file. The next prompt came up and it went fine from there.

When I was having issues with redsn0w I poked around online and found out that the IPSW for the 3GS has to start with 2,1 (3G starts with 1,2 and that's the one I had), and once I downloaded the correct one it solved my problem.

Other than that, I got nothing...🙁

can you please explain that because when i tried to rename the file it said that the * can not be used. also, when i typed it in the file that redsn0w wanted to open, it wouldnt let me...please respond
