Hi:
I know you have to upgrade to 3.0 before running redsn0w. I upgraded to 3.0 in iTunes but now the phone is stuck in emergency mode (with "No SIM card installed" message) and if I connect it to iTunes it tells me:
"iTunes cannot activate your iPhone because the SIM card is not inserted or SIM pin is required"
I do not have an AT&T sim card to activate.
Question:
1. How can I tell if I have actually upgraded to 3.0 if I can't get into the phone past the "no SIM card" message?
2. If I run redsn0w will it activate the phone?
3. Should I restore and reinstall the firmware from iTunes first? Should I do a full on restore with DFU mode for that?
