my laptop doesnt make any noise unless im playing sound through the speakers, maybe its the $5 cooling stand i use to keep it cool and quite??

This. You really only have two ways of dealing with heat.

1) Don't generate it. (Which others have already addressed).
2) Remove it with larger, quieter fans.

See if you can keep the Macbook elevated and use one of those cooling stands with large quiet fans on it. Does that keep the fans from hitting full speed?

If not tweak your game settings, under clock your GPU, etc... until you can perform without the fans.

Seriously though among laptops Macs are notoriously quiet, but any noise can be an issue in a library setting.

Another option would be to put on a set of gaming headphones (the big ones), and just play away. The noise coming from your GPU fans might not be so noticeable from a few yards away; and if it really bothers people, worse that could happen is someone letting you know that it is bothering them.

Watch out for what you say while playing and wearing headphones though--like when you get killed inside the game. It can get pretty loud if you don't hear yourself, and this could become more of a problem than the fans inside your MBP.

Elseif, if you care so much about the computer being too loud in the library, why dont you go play games somewhere else? afterall it is a laptop. Cafeteria, dorms, empty class...

So? There are no hard drive fans in a Macbook Pro. Learn what you are talking about please.

Way to be a douchelord. Generating heat inside the computer will increase heat throughout the entire thing (obviously affecting other things too).

The decrease in heat put off by the laptop has been noticeable since I moved to a SSD.

It may make a ever so small difference. When gaming what the CPU & GPU generate in heat it so much more that you could have 5 HDDs in your system and it wouldn't make a difference.
Those external fans don't really help either.

Just don't game in a library. There are other places in a university where you can create some more noise. Some libraries also have corners for talking and discussing stuff if you hide in one you can game.
Otherwise I always hated when people showed up with some loud notebook near me. Don't annoy people around you. Use it normally and it will stay mostly silent or use it somewhere else, it is not that hard.

Probably be playing games such as league of legend or Heroes of might and Magic VI in the library with a macbook pro 15 inch.

I am scared that it might be a bit noisy and all.

any of you have any experience?

When I use my macbook and I'm playing "The Sims" or something mine does get noisy... I guess that's just the fans cooling the macbook down. I wouldn't worry about it, I'm pretty sure there will be more noisy computers in the library ;)
